You don’t run the show… Your Brain does.
So as long as you respect that, you can be cool in the heat.
Well, for some the heat is on, and I got the notes from 2 suffering athletes, and so I told them:
-in your brain, there is a Central governor system, that is searching for feedback on some important points.
one of them is the core temperature, and how fast it is going up
– if it does not like what is going on, it will try to protect you from getting into the area where heatstroke happens. Nice service.
– problem is, it does not see all you see = how much time is left of your session, when can you cool down , when can you drink cold, etc etc., and so it is acting a little like an angry mother in law.
– first it gives you a really bad feeling….but if you are motivated, you will get over it, but then it just will hit you again, harder.
– another thing that it masters….IS TO SHUT DOWN PARTS OF YOUR MUSLCE FIBERS (as they produce most of the body heat)
…… a lot more, but lets stay here.
BECAUSE YOU MUST RESPECT THE HEAT, AND NOT TRY TO REACH THE NORMAL PACE OR POWER, BECAUSE IT JUST IS NOT POSSIBLE.
and so we adjust the effort according to the heat, when it is really hard. How much, up to 25% …..
Depending on fitness/heat adapted/power-pace effort/and temp.
Please do so.
Together with hydrating, sodium, and cooling down.
