Training Camp – What to look for
April 18, 2016

Well…this is not meant as a PR for out coming camp in us in June (even I think it is going to be great)
This is just 5 quick things to check on your list, before you book a camp.
1. Do you have the time ?
Sometimes you just need to decide, and then start to plan, and make the time for a good 1 week camp.
Sometimes, you just need to be realistic, and just stay cool and keep the job going and let the daily life flow.
Sit down, take out the calender, get a overlook, talk with your partner and think what it will look like, in the period that a great camp is in your mind. And then make the commitment to 1 or the other.
2. What is the camp offering ?
And…..does that fit what you need.
Is it a swim focus camp ? bike ? easy or hard program etc.
3. Who runs the camp ?
Can they deliver, on the topics that you feel are important for you ? And is quality in line with the price ?
4. Do you have time to get in the shape, that lets you get the full training out of the camp ?
When there suddenly is a 20+ hours program on the table, can your body actually take that.
5. Overload…..
Now you have done the camp, then be cool when you get home.
Do very easy sessions every day, just to move and keep bloodflow daily to the muscles, which aid the recover from a “overload” week. Get a massage, get your sleep and stay healthy, and then check your fitness 1 week after.
Do 4x6min at your 1/2 distance bike pace.
If you can do that, without getting into trouble on nr 3 or 4 interval, then your body are turning around, and you start to be ready. (Do this alone….so you dont feel presure to race the good group that you normally train with in the weekends)
Have fun
And yes, I am a big fan of camps,
