Here is what his coach told him.

1.)  Eat healthy 48 hours

you could do it during training and tapper
and now that you have busted your body in a race, help it to recover, and wait 48 hours with the junk food, even if you crave it.

2.) Get an ice bath
do it 3 days in a row, and the temp has to be between 8 to 12 degrees

3.) Get a massage, but it is fine to wait until the day after
and then again 4 days after, and then 7 days after. Then you are fine.

4.) MOVE…..
Go for a walk, spin the bike 1 hour easy, swim 3x400m easy
go to the gym and stretch, and do very light weights

5.) Don’t travel straight after or the day after race if you can avoid it.
Your body will thank you, and…….the risk of sickness is very high up to 72 hours after a big and hard race.
